The exploration of Jacques André Naigeon’s correspondence, which has been neglected up to now, constitutes an important step in the renewal of research on this important enlightened intermediary. This article provides a preliminary cursory inventory, including the active and passive correspondence, the known or published letters, those indicated in sales catalogues, and those whose existence alone is known. The general register of letters contains 64 entries (some concerning several letters), to which must be added five special cases, plus two categories of documents signed by Naigeon and the short list of his articles published in journals. The character of this correspondence is explained, together with the archives in which they are to be found. Naigeon’s correspondents are presented and identified, as far as possible. The article ends with the text of three unpublished letters.
