Accessibility is gaining relevance in organization studies, especially for what concerns people with disability in the workplace. When considering arts organizations, accessibility entails the transformation of social and organizational spaces as well as that of artworks in order to allow their fruition to anyone, regardless of their physical, psychological, or social characteristics. This constitutes a challenge for arts organizations, that need to rethink modes of production, expression and fruition to pursue a barrier-free condition. In this article, we address this theme by highlighting main issues and challenges. After a critical review of actual debates about accessibility, we provide illustrative cases of contemporary artistic and cultural experiences that are addressing the issue in innovative and provocative ways.
