The paper reports an as-yet-unknown witness of the Libro di Costumanza, an Italian translation of the French version of the Moralium Dogma Philosophorum. It provides also a whole survey of the witnesses of the work, which is distinct in different versions. The Neapolitan manuscript belongs to the version signed as γ and stands out as one of the rare witnesses copied in Northern Italy. A first linguistic analysis of the scripta shows some features leading to the Eastern area of the Po valley. In conclusion, the manuscript is backdated to the first half of the 14th century.
Il contributo segnala un testimone finora sconosciuto del Libro di Costumanza, volgarizzamento della versione francese del compendio di filosofia morale noto col titolo di Moralium Dogma Philosophorum. Verrà inoltre fornito un regesto completo dei testimoni dell’opera, articolata in varie redazioni. Afferente alle redazione siglata γ, il codice napoletano costituisce uno dei pochi testimoni del volgarizzamento esemplati in Italia settentrionale; una prima analisi linguistica della scripta mostra in particolare elementi che riconducono il manoscritto all’area padano-orientale. Si propone infine una retrodatazione del codice (prima metà del XIV secolo).
